1. Indian Institutes of Technology
:
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are the premier engineering and technology-oriented institutes. They are fifteen in number and all are independent from others. The top most among the IITs are IIT Chennai, Mumbai, Kanpur and Delhi. The selection procedure is called as IIT-JEE, which absorbs around 4,000 candidates each year.

IITs are called the premier engineering and technology-oriented institutes.  Some courses offered from the IITs are Bachelor of Technology, Master of Technology, Master of Science and Master of Arts degrees.  IIT-JEE is the process of selection to take in around 4000 candidates every year. About 15,500 undergraduates and 12,000 graduate students study in the IITs.

2. Anna University:
This University was found in 1978 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It was originally named as Perarignar Anna University of Technology (PAUT). The Anna University then was transformed into an affiliating university in the year of 2001.  This University offers higher education in Technology, Engineering and Allied Sciences.  Ever year more than 65000 engineering graduates are coming out from this University. It has four campuses like CEG, SAP and ACT in the main campus and MIT in Chromepet.

3. Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani (Rajasthan):
Birla Institute of Technology and Science founded in 1929 in Pilani is a renowned science and technology institute of India. It has three campuses in the country and one campus in Dubai, UAE. It also has an extension centre at Bangalore. This Institution takes in about 4000 students from all over the world. Its admission procedure is called as BITSAT, which is quota free.  This Institution offers different courses like Doctoral program and three tier academic structure First Degree as well as Higher Degree.
